How to ask

Email apps@ffour.co.uk with the subject Delete my data, and include either the text of a message you sent us, or the date you sent it.

To find that: open Ritual Study, tap the menu, then Settings, then Your feedback. Every submission you have made from that device is listed there with its date. Copy the text or note the date and paste it into your email.

We ask for the message or the date because it is the only way we can find your submission. The app does not create an account and we never learn who sent what, so we cannot look you up by name or email address.

We will delete the matching submissions and confirm by reply, within 30 days and usually within a few days.

What is deleted

Everything stored against the submissions you identify, which is all we hold:

• The message you wrote, and the part of the app you chose.
• The ceremony and role selected at the time.
• The app version and platform, and the one-line description of the device the app was running on.
• The random identifier the app generated when it was installed.
• The date you sent it, and any reply we wrote.
• Any email address you gave on a request so we could tell you when a working became available.

Deletion is permanent. It is removed from our live database at once, and from our hosting provider's automatic backups within 30 days.

What is kept

Nothing that identifies you, because we hold nothing else. We keep no account, no name, no phone number, no address and no advertising identifier, and we do not record your IP address with a submission.

We may keep a note of a bug or a suggestion itself, written in our own words with nothing that could identify the person who reported it, because it describes our software rather than you.

Data on your own device

Your learned lines, your sequences, your notes and your settings are stored only on your device. They are never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to delete. To remove them, uninstall Ritual Study, or clear the app's storage in your device's settings.

How long we keep things otherwise

If you do not ask us to delete a submission, we keep it for as long as it is useful for improving the app. An email address given on a request is deleted once we have sent the message it was given for.

Your other rights

Under UK data protection law you can also ask what personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct it, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Our full privacy policy explains what the app sends and why.
